Romanian Red Garlic is a late-season, Porcelain type. Truly impressive in every way, each bulb contains 4-6 large cloves, delivering a hot and pungent flavor that lasts. Its popularity stems from its robust growth, hardiness, and high allicin content, as well as the easy-to-peel cloves and unique streaked purple-red skin. The heads are wrapped in silky, creamy white and have excellent storage capabilities. Originally from Romania.
Flavor: Rich, spicy garlic with heat that lingers when raw.
Storage ability: Will keep until March or April in a cool, dark garage or shed.
Cloves per bulb: 4-6
Cloves per pound: 16-24 - or about 4 bulbs/pound.
Planting: One pound plants 12 row feet at one clove every 6".
